About

Bayan Shaeri is a third-year student in the Environmental Design program at the University of Manitoba.

Bayan is an undergraduate researcher with the Future Elements Studio, exploring how technology enhances the intelligence and efficacy of design amid THE climate crisis. His work utilizes satellite imagery, drones, point clouds, and predictive modelling in collaboration with researchers from the University of British Columbia, ETH Zurich, and the University of Oxford.

Bayan is also a co-founder of Petal Design Studio, a Winnipeg-based multidisciplinary practice committed to environmentally responsive, client-centred design. Recent projects include Petals in Perspective, a Cool Gardens 2025 award-winning installation highlighting endangered native Manitoba plant species. In partnership with Storefront Manitoba, Petal also created Crossroads, a portal installation celebrating the reopening of Portage and Main.
